Industrial steel 'library table' desk - $375


Fantastic early 1960s steel library table by All Steel Equipment. Solid steel panel sides, with contrast brushed steel feet, laminate table top for easy writing or drawing. Desk has a central clean-running drawer. A great example of 1960s American industrial design, these desk tables were built to last forever – very strong, sturdy, absolutely no wobbles. Makes a great dining table, large desk or drafting table.

Great condition, only a few surface markings, which you'd expect with a desk of this age. Table surface is in excellent condition. Known as 'library tables', these steel desks were much preferred to wood alternatives and stood up to the rigors of use in the military, police, and other industrial environments. The tables are much sought-after for their solid, well-built construction as well as their classic design and proportions.

Beautiful Scandinavian lounge chair - SOLD

Mid-century 1950s/1960s modern Scandinavian lounge chair. Classic clean lines and mid-century angles. Lovely sage green upholstery with white detail, in perfect condition. Wood frame is very strong and tight, and in great condition, a few slight markings on the legs. This chair is a beauty – and so comfortable!

Dimensions – back height: 29in. Seat height at front of cushion: 17in. Armrest: 21in.

Side table with ceramic tile top - SOLD

Pretty mid-century wood side table with removable cream ceramic tile top. Lovely flared tapering legs and great lines. Ceramic tile is standard size, so can be alternated with other designs/patterns if desired.

Very strong with tight joints, the table is in great condition. A few minor signs of wear on the wood, to be expected with a vintage mid-century piece.

1950s vintage lamp - $60

Fantastic mid-century 1950s table lamp with 'umbrella' shade. Base and shade are metal, in great railway green with brass fixings. Shade swivels to adjust light level. Fully working order, an unsual and beautiful 1950s piece.

Industrial chrome and orange chair - $50

Great industrial mid-century arm chair. Incredibly comfortable and supportive – makes a great desk or reading chair. Great vintage piece with pumpkin orange vinyl seat and back, with chromed tubular steel structure.

Incredibly comfortable with awesome mid-century modern lines and angles. Very strong and sturdy, great condition. A few markings on the chrome, as to be expected with a piece of this vintage.

Industrial Marcel Breuer-esque chair $50

Fantastic industrial modern armchair, modeled on Marcel Breuer's innovative 1928 Cesca chair, the first chair to use a cantilevered steel frame all formed from a single piece of tubing.

Chromed tubular steel structure with upholstered dark red leatherette seat and back and black wood armrests. The cantilever makes for a very comfortable, supportive chair, as well as awesome industrial-era aesthetic.

Zanotta Ristoro bistro table SOLD



Fantastic Zanotta Ristoro café/diner table, designed and manufactured in Italy. Top is white formica with a black rubber edge, base is cast iron, making it really sturdy and perfect for patios as well as indoor use.

Lovely clean lines and two tone color. In near perfect condition.

Designed by Peter Noever for Italian furniture makers Zanotta in 1986, these tables are a classic. They retail at $1,382 so this is a steal!

Selene chairs by Vico Magistretti

SOLD

Beautiful pair of white Selene chairs designed by Vico Magistretti in 1961. Comfortable and strong, as well as gorgeous to look at.

Produced many years before Phillipe Stark came along with his version of a polycarbonate chair, this is a true design classic. These chairs are included in the MoMA permanent design collection, the Vitra Museum, and leading museums around the world.

$200 for the pair. In great condition, a couple of surface nicks but nothing serious.

Industrial steel workbench - SOLD



Industrial steel workbench. Makes a great desk or console table, and because it's narrow it's also perfect for a New York apartment.

The solid sides are steel, and the top is Velvoleum. Adjustable feet raise and lower the bench top. We have a few available, $120 each.

Great condition and very strong, though with the markings you would expect with their industrial past.

Mid-century wood dining table - SOLD


Lovely large, solid, beech dining table, seats eight people easily. If only our apartment was large enough...

It's beautifully proportioned with flared cylindrical tapered legs and brass-capped feet. Very strong, perfectly flat formica surface with strengthening solid wood central spine under the top – no chance of any bowing or wobbles that could upset your dinner party.

Steamer traveling trunk SOLD


Beautiful 1950s vintage steamer trunk, by Worth and Son Manufacturers, London. Wooden braces with brass catches and brass caps to strengthen corners. Leather handles at either end. The trunk is very spacious, lined with lovely striped paper, in good condition though with some markings. Original stamped metal manufacturer's tag, and paper label stating departure from Minehead, UK, via steamer.

The trunk is in great condition, ready to house your linens, out of season clothes, or kid's toys! H12" x W30" x D18".

General Fireproofing Co. tanker desk

1960s single pedestal steel tanker desk by General Fireproofing Co.

Founded in 1902 in Youngstown Ohio, General Fireproofing quickly became titans of steel furniture manufacture and design. This desk is from their 1964 'Modemaker' series, described in the original catalog as a desk for "The man who deserves the finest, the most distinguished of all desks!"

The desk has one file drawer, a box drawer, a pencil drawer and one wide, shallow drawer that runs the rest of the length of the desk. Lovely curved contrasting feet and chromed drawer handles and rim.

The desk's official color is 'Pine Frost', and it comes with a Velvoleum top. There is some inevitable marking on the desk, as expected with a desk of this age, and there are one or two chips in the edging. These desks were - and still are - much sought-after for their strong construction.

Card file cabinet - $140

Lovely steel card file cabinet with five drawers – top two drawers are split in two as card files, lower three drawers for regular filing.

Really sturdy, and in great condition. The drawers run very cleanly, no squeaks. Lovely vintage racing green color with brass handles and label frames. Some markings on the paintwork.

Powder Blue Thonet chairs - $100 the pair

Lovely pair of Thonet-designed bentwood dining chairs from the 1970s. Beech wood structure with brass-capped feet and original powder blue upholstery. Excellent condition, the wood is unmarked and upholstery near-perfect.

Michael Thonet was an Austrian designer who pioneered the bentwood technique which became first achieved wide recognition when he presented it at the 1851 World's Fair. This pair date from the 1970s and feature his trademark bentwood structure. Seat height = 18”

Vintage Filing Cabinets - $120 each

GREEN COLE METAL INC. CABINET SOLD

We have two industrial four-drawer filing cabinets available, in a ferny green and creamy mushroom. The green cabinet is by Cole Metal Inc., and the cream one by General Fireproofing Co. Both are H52” x W15” x L28”

Very strong, in great condition with clean-running drawers complete with file holders. Heavy-based and well-weighted so no danger of toppling over! Some slight distress marks on the paintwork.
